Bucharest – Targoviste (Execution Place of Ceausescu & Royal Court) – Dealu Monastery
Let’s start our lovely tour from Bucharest. At 8:00 a.m. I’ll be at your hotel to pick you up.
After less than 2 hours we reach the military unit 01417 in Targoviste. Over there Ceausescu spent his last 3 nights. That’s gonna be a place where we’ll be amazed by a small museum. Certainly, it’s very important to understand the ’89 revolution from Romania. We’ll see the room where Ceausescu couple were medically examined before the trial. It’s that place where they were judged by the Exceptional Military Court. We’ll see, as well, the room where they slept. Of course, outside of the building, we’ll observe the place of the execution.
To the next stop, we’ll admire the Royal Court in Targoviste. We’ll be impressed by the fortifications, the ruins of the Palace (built by Peter Cercel in the 16th century), the Chindia Tower and the Orthodox Church.
The last stop from our lovely trip is a few kilometers from Targoviste, at Dealu to visit an orthodox monastery. This place is very important for Romanians because here is buried the head of Michael the Brave. He’s the one who unified for the first time Wallachia, Moldavia, and Transylvania.
