Bucharest – Targoviste (Execution Place of Ceausescu & Royal Court) – Dealu Monastery
We start the tour at 8:00 am, from your hotel from Bucharest. After less than 2 hours we reach the military unit 01417 in Targoviste, where Ceausescu spent his last 3 nights as a prisoner. Here we have a small museum, but very important to understand the ’89 revolution from Romania. We can see here the room where Ceausescu couple were medically examined before the trial, the place where they been judged by the Exceptional Military Court, the room where they slept and, of course, outside of the building, the place of the execution.
Next, we stop at the Royal Court in Targoviste, to see the fortifications, the ruins of the Palace (build by Petru Cercel in XVI century), Chindia Tower and the Orthodox Church.
The last stop is a few kilometers from Targoviste, at Dealu to visit an orthodox monastery, important for Romanians because here is berried the head of Michael the Brave, the one who unified for the first time Wallachia, Moldavia, and Transylvania.
